Acrylic painting of a black front door on a red house (Highland Farm, Oscar Hammerstein's former home in Doylestown, PA).

"Welcome to Inspiration"

A door can be a portal
To another place and time
Words can be a window too
Especially when they rhyme! 😉

They transport you to distant lands
Or perhaps somewhere close by
But always give a different view
From someone else’s eye

A painting is an entryway
Into an artist’s mind
They show you what you may not see
When on your daily grind

A poem is an invite too
But of a different kind
Most require some work from you
To imagine what they find

But pair a poem with a painting
You have the best of all
Inspiration from both worlds
To rivet and enthrall
