"Abounding Grace"

She floats upon the water
So elegant to behold
Her passage smooth
Her voyage calm
Her beauty much extolled
 
The epitome of grace
She needs no other name
So wild and free
So bold to see
No chance she’ll ever tame
 
Her neck so thin and slender
Her wings as soft as down
Her form a perfect picture
For an artist’s skill
To abound
 
She visits every springtime
To linger with her mate
They float as one
This team of two
On nature’s perfect date

The sunlight casts bright glimmers
On the ripples in her wake
They shine so bright
An inspiring sight
A most lovely painting make
 
The canal is her home for now
Who knows how long she’ll stay
But her abounding grace
Has found a place
