To reflect is to mirror
To mirror is to show
An image of a subject
Nearly everyone will know
Some only see the surface
Others look right past
And see intent behind your deeds
The kind you don’t broadcast
How is it that they know you?
How is it that they judge?
They weigh your words and actions
And look close for any smudge
And look close for any smudge
Words are the simplest mirror
To reveal what’s in the heart
Sweet and kind or bitter
To reveal what’s in the heart
Sweet and kind or bitter
They’ll show at least a part
Actions are more tricky
They may look as good as gold
But the motive deep inside
May be as deadly as black mold
When you look into the mirror
What is it that you see?
The surface view or far beyond
To a deeper reality?
