A Poem Inspired by

"Marooned"

Abandoned to time
I grow old and faded
No longer useful
No longer needed

In younger days
I was beautiful, smart
My hull bright and shiny
Full of laughter and heart

The seasons changed
I waited in place
No interest given
Not even a trace

Marooned on land
I shall never fulfill
My design, my calling
I’m over the hill

Wait just a minute
I need not be glum
Where did all this
Depression come from?

Stuck in a rut
I may be indeed
But one day soon
I shall surely be freed
