"Morning Watch"

Dawn slowly breaks
Chasing back the night
The sky is filled
With a soft, rosy light

Waves slowly wash
Over sandy tidal bay
So calm and quiet
With little surf or spray

Keeper slowly rises
Breaking his fast
The dark watch is over
With morning here at last
