"Just Married"

A marriage is a joining
Of two hearts that beat as one
Openness must be present
Once a union has begun

A marriage is a covenant
A promise to be true
Faithfulness is essential
For lasting follow through

A marriage is a merger
Of two ways of doing things
Compromise is the key
To keep those promise rings

A marriage is a partnership
A co-op game for two
Teamwork is a definite must
For any task you do

A marriage is a friendship
Of a most unusual kind
Fun and laughter is the stuff
That lets married folks unwind

A marriage is a messy affair
Of two imperfect friends
Forgiveness is the substance
On which wedded bliss depends

A marriage is a picture
Of divine reality
A living, breathing work of art
Created for all to see
