Acrylic wildlife painting of a heron standing on the green, grassy bank of the Delaware Canal with sun rays shining on the water and mist.

"Rise and Shine"

He’s awake before dawn
And out on the lawn
The grass a most brilliant green
A light misty sprinkle
Sets dew drops a twinkle
And makes for a perfect art scene

The sun’s quiet rays
Draw viewer’s gaze
Create a magic all of their own
Shining through trees
They set minds at ease
Their light of such pleasant tone

What a beautiful sight
Is this bird set alight
Sure to inspire, stir, and amaze
This work of art
Done with such heart
Has surely won my deepest praise
