"Perceiving Light"

Our business is Perceiving Light
Many often wonder why
It’s not the simplest story
But I’ll give it a good try

First is the science of light
The study of the human eye
Rods and cones
Determine all tones
That our brain may classify

Next is the study of light
And the colors that underlie
The way they mix
Their various tricks
And theories for each dye

Third is the Spirit of light
Creator of you and I
He made it all
From great to small
That’s why He’s called the Most High

And finally Perceiving Light
Is a work not of one but of two
If you look close
You’ll see that we both
Have a hand in all that we do
