After trying some road and mountain paintings, I really wanted to get back to my favorite subject: forests.  This scene struck me with its abundant green foliage and tranquil creek.  I’ve always found earth colors to be soothing, and this piece is no exception.  I wanted it to feel like a retreat, a place of solitude where one can rest and recover from all the rigors of life.
