A Poem Inspired by “Marooned”
Abandoned to time
I grow old and faded
No longer useful
No longer needed
Strive not for Perfection, but Reflection
Abandoned to time
I grow old and faded
No longer useful
No longer needed
To reflect is to mirror
To mirror is to show
An image of a subject
Nearly everyone will know
What is Grace?
Beauty of countenance
Elegance of form
Grace is all of this
But so much more
A feast for the soul
A most hardy repast
Sunshine’s the fuel
To make our joy last
The weather may be dreary
The day may be dark
Neither stops Intrepid Traveler
About to embark
King of the jungle
His gaze greatly feared
With piercing blue eyes
His prey have been seared
A cat’s a curious creature
A mystery wrapped up in fur
One moment they may want to bite you
The next they lay down and purr
Queen of the vines
This lady in white
Her soft, shining petals
An artist’s delight
She floats upon the water
So elegant to behold
Her passage smooth
Her voyage calm
Her beauty much extolled
A door can be a portal
To another place and time
Words can be a window too
Especially when they rhyme! 😉
