I loved the mysterious quality of this scene and thought it would be an apt way to start off the new year.  The orange light in the background could be a beautiful sunset or a raging forest fire; this is exactly how 2021 feels to me—will it end in prosperity or disaster?  I really wanted to play up the contrast in this scene and draw the viewer’s eye down the road to an uncertain future.
