This painting actually started out as a normal landscape.  Once I had created the waterfalls however, I realized that it would be the perfect backdrop for another fantasy painting.  My inspiration came from old 80s and 90s sci-fi books that my brother used to read.  It was a challenge forming a believable environment but the moon and glowing green plant life was a lot of fun to create.  The most enjoyable part was developing the scale relationship between the two subjects and adding detail to the tripod arm.
