The cliff walk at Newport, Rhode Island has some fantastic views of the ocean. My in-laws like to take mini vacations there during the fall/winter when it’s off season and pretty much deserted. They shared photos of this sunrise with me and I just had to paint it. The apocalyptic sky contrasting with the calm water and craggy rocks captured my imagination.
