It’s always nice to paint the same subject more than once. It gives me the opportunity to refine prior techniques and experiment with new ones. This painting was no exception. Where the fur in “Chickenhound” was more smooth and sleek, this fur was much more fluffy and texturized. I loved playing up the blues in the shadows of the white fur and complimenting them with the rich orange tones.
