I’ve wanted to paint lions for a long time now but kept getting distracted by landscapes or other animals.  I’m happy to finally have had the opportunity since they’re such interesting subjects to paint.  Between the thick mane, the fine facial hair, the delicate whiskers, and the haunting eyes, they’re a fun challenge.
