This is the first in a series of paintings on Washington Crossing Park in the fall.  Sara and I got there just after sunrise one morning and were pleasantly surprised to find this heron quietly seeking his breakfast.  I was struck by the wide open lake and the brilliant fall foliage set ablaze by the rising sun.  The complementary colors add a pleasant contrast to this piece.
