Here’s what the artist had to say about this artwork:

I wanted to paint the Delaware River at full tide last year but the weather didn’t cooperate. Instead, it got so low you could almost walk to the center! The roots and pebbles revealed by the drought fascinated me and I couldn’t resist painting them.
