I actually used to build my own wooden panels for painting when I lived in Louisiana.  Then I moved to PA, and I didn’t have access to those tools anymore so I switched to canvas.  I’m grateful for all the experience I gained with both mediums.  Each has its pros and cons and although canvas is more forgiving to brushes and has a nice bounce, panel allows for more precise detail and a deeper depth of color.  Considering this piece sold within hours of me finishing it, I think my switch back to panel was a great success!  lol
