Cooler nights, cozier beds
Autumn is the comfiest season
The days get shorter
In this last quarter
But that’s not the only reason
A Poem Inspired by “Autumn Slumber”

Cooler nights, cozier beds
Autumn is the comfiest season
The days get shorter
In this last quarter
But that’s not the only reason
Once upon a November
I met the one for me
A date on Goat Hill Overlook
The view a sight to see
We made our way down the bank
Seeking the perfect view
The stream bubbled and roiled beneath
It was only passin’ through
Abandoned to time
I grow old and faded
No longer useful
No longer needed
A feast for the soul
A most hardy repast
Sunshine’s the fuel
To make our joy last
