Our business is Perceiving Light
Many often wonder why
It’s not the simplest story
But I’ll give it a good try
A Poem Inspired by “Perceiving Light”

Our business is Perceiving Light
Many often wonder why
It’s not the simplest story
But I’ll give it a good try
He’s awake before dawn
And out on the lawn
The grass a most brilliant green
A light misty sprinkle
Sets dew drops a twinkle
And makes for a perfect art scene
When we get to the root of a matter
We want to go straight to the heart
Knowing this, that may be easy
But where on earth do we start?
Most things shut down in the winter
It’s the darkest time of the year
But that doesn’t mean
We still cannot glean
Some happiness and some good cheer
Cooler nights, cozier beds
Autumn is the comfiest season
The days get shorter
In this last quarter
But that’s not the only reason
The sky is brighter
The grass is greener
The air feels cleaner
Fresh after rain
The path is quiet and peaceful
The sun barely risen yet
The mist lingers round the bend
The dew on the grass still wet
This life is a journey
A roadway through time
Smooth, straight, or curvy
Perhaps a steep incline
He found himself stranded
On a most forbidding world
Straight into adventure
He was accidentally hurled
A desert so fallow
A strange, empty tableau
For this space cowboy
It’s time to go
